Charice Pempengco on Oprah
Charice Pempengco is a Filipino singer that originally appeared on Oprah on May 12th. Oprah was so impressed and touched by this 16 year old’s performance that she reached out to call the legendary David Foster and told him he needed to do something for her. The wheels began turning very quickly for little Charice who must be barely 5 feet tall. This little girl had no idea of what was about to happen to her, but in a nutshell all of her dreams are coming true at a rapid pace. If you haven’t already heard Charice sing, you must. She has a voice that could compete with Whitney, Celine, Andrea Bocelli and all of the top singers of the world and she is only 16 years old. Oh and don’t let me forget to mention she was discovered on YouTube. Just think without the internet, the world would have never found this treasure.
Oprah had Charice back on the show today and little does she know it, but she is going to meet Celine Dion. Before the big Celine unveiling Oprah had some of her fans on and gave them a chance to say hi to her. She also showed video of the first time Andrea Bocelli called her and she was so happy she came to tears. Charice then flew to Italy to sing a duet with her idol Andrea Bocelli. Their performance brought out more than 8,000 people while they sing “The Prayer” in Tuscany.
Charice talked about her childhood in manila and how she draws strength to sing from her mother. When Charice was 3 years old she witnessed her father’s rage while he choked her mother and almost shot her until the neighbors came to rescue her. Her mother taught her to sing when she was four years old and the first song she ever learned was My Heart Will Go On. Charice began to help her mother make money by entering over 80 talent shows and using her prize money to buy food for the house. There favorite food is of all things…pizza.
This story is so inspiring and definitely brought tears to my eyes. I hope this little girl continues to sing her heart out and I look forward to hearing songs that were written for her.

Though english is the second language spoken in the Philippines. This talented never travelled outside of her country, never been interviewed on TV in a country other than Phils. I guess she answers the questions the best she can. Same thing if you talk other language they will be annoyed.

WOW! IF Charise was on AMERICAN IDOL…they would have to end the show due to no competition!!!! What a beautiful young lady with abundant natural talent! May God continue to bless her and her family.

It is very comforting to know that there are still artists who have God given talents that amaze us.
Charise is a one in a lifetime singer who, hopefully,
will be around for a long while. The chilling thing is
that she will probably get even better than the
greatness that she now has. Thank you Charise. If you’re
ever in Nashville, you are welcome in our home. We would
just look at you in awe. God bless.

Thelma, if you want to shorten our country’s name, better to say P.I. (stands for Philippine Islands). Never say, Phils, that’s incorrect!!!

I was wondering how I could request a copy of her song “If I wrote a note to God”. My aunt is in a hospice facility suffering from cancer and will pass away any day now and would like to be able to play it at her funeral. Could you please direct me to where I could get this on the internet in order to download the song?
Thank you in advance for you assistance. I so hope I will hear back from this request.

She’s really phenomenal. I am becoming a addictive fan of her. After work, it becomes a habit for me to open the youtube and see and hear her sing. I kept following up her daily success. A real singer, embued with natural talents.
Hope she flourish more and be a great model for our young people who are lost and into negative vices. Her’s is a glaring manifestation that great people are born at the time of crisis to bring light and hope to the world through her music and her story. A great inspiration! I hope and pray that good hands will guide her.

She has cheerful personality! Maybe that’s why you’re annoyed! She’s young, she’d been through a lot of difficulties in life. Let her be happy now that GOD GRANTED MORE THAN IS SIMPLE PRAYERS!
She dreamed to be in Oprah, to sing with Celine, to sing with Andrea she got it all. Be happy for her, good things may happen to YOU NEXT!
