Have you ever seen anything so beautiful? Well maybe, but you have to admit this is impressive!
Have you ever seen anything so beautiful? Well maybe, but you have to admit this is impressive!
So I know it’s been too long since I last posted. I’ve been so busy and the kids have been back to school now for a few weeks, so i finally am able to catch up and start blogging again.
All the season premiers are coming up starting next week, so I’ll definitely be blogging about what I like and what I don’t. I’d be remiss though if I didn’t start now with my ode to Britney. I think it deserves its own post though.
I never really liked wine until about four years ago. A friend forced me to have it with a steak we ordered for dinner. I’ve never looked back. : ) Over the years, tasting wine is something I look forward to. I’m not a drunk, don’t worry, but I do enjoy the first sip of a good red wine. Pino Noir if available. The movie Sideways steered me away from Merlot.
I discovered a fantastic wine that is cheap and very smooth. It’s a great wine to keep your cabinets stocked with when company drops by, or after a rough day. The best part is that you can even find this wine at Target. This Yellow Tail Shiraz is a must have at any bunko or cocktail party. Try it! You’ll agree!
I’m sitting here watching Wife Swap. There’s this woman on tonight from a farm in Iowa. This lady is a total freak and is trying to impose her lifestyle on a family from California. She is preaching some insane things such as: eating only raw food (that includes raw chicken), not sending kids to school (she says everything they need to learn, they can learn from their environment), bacteria is good for you (she even cleans the kitchen floor by licking it).
So maybe I’m a product of my environment having been raised as a city girl, but watching this show tonight is not giving middle America a great image. Frankly, it’s really grossing me out. Here is Southern Cali, we cook our food (unless we’re at sushi), we send our kids to school (unless they are actors in which case they are probably home schooled), and we use a mop to clean the floor.
I recently saw a commercial for the new Chrysler 300 sedan. The commercial shows an old guy leaving a country club and getting into his car at the valet. The announcer states that Chrysler secretly switched this guys Toyota with a new Chrysler. Okay whatever, if the guy can’t notice the difference between a Toyota Camry and the Chrysler 300, then why would anyone want one anyway. That’s not what ticked me off though.
At the end of the commercial, they show the old guy driving in the car with this young lady that could easily be his daughter if not granddaughter. Then the announcer says that they also secretly switched his wife Agnes of 20 years with this young supermodel Isabella. Then the old guy smiles and says thank you Chrysler.
As a wife of almost 16 years, that commercial completely offended me. Where are the values there? Not only that, but I am totally grossed out at the idea of some old guy with a young girl. Tacky!
I recently saw Tyra being interviewed by Larry King. I guess there was a photo of her in Australia taken recently that made her look fat or maybe she was fat. Either way, it wasn’t a great picture and some people said some things about her she says were hurtful. Pahleease!
Give me a break Tyra. You have got to be kidding me! What the hell kind of impression is she setting for young girls with this statement? That it is hurtful to be called fat? There are a lot of fat girls out there that put up with this abuse everyday. Girls much fatter than Tyra has ever been. She should worry about something more important. Especially if she has the time with Larry King on national TV, she should’ve made a better statement and set a better example. She’s beautiful, who cares what people say or think? Don’t teach girls to worry about stuff like that!
I love Grey’s Anatomy, but this was painful to watch.
They won a SAG award and the acceptance speech given by Ellen Pompeo was such a catastrophe it looked like her cast members were in pain listening. Watch the video below to the end if you can stand it.
Here is my understanding of some new rules for the road in SoCal. Be safe, be cautious! They forgot to add a fine for applying mascara while talking on the cell phone and drag racing!
1. Carpool lane - 1st time $1068.50 starting 1/1/07
(NOT $271, posted on the highway is old).
2nd time offense - Doubled. 3rd time - Tripled, and 4th time License Suspension.
2. Incorrect lane change. Improper lane crossing of solid lines or intersection - $380
3. Blocking intersection - $485
4. Driving on the shoulder - $450
7 . Speeders can only drive 3 miles above the limit. Street racing commits felony on injuries.
8. DUI - JAIL
Long day today. Got up at 6 am. Took the kids to school. Worked , then went to do that volunteer thing I talked about earlier. Went back to the office. Came home about 8pm after having to stop at Kinkos to copy a super bowl pool. Had a small bowl of tortellini for dinner. I am tired. Oh, I forgot I had to do the dishes too. Anyway, I am so glad the volunteer thing is almost done. We have to be in Huntington Beach at 8:15am tomorrow, so my pillow is calling me. BTW That’s about an hour drive. Ahhh nighty night!
