The View Will No Longer be Rosie

Rosie announced today that she did not renew her contract to continue to host the View. After June, she’s out. She said that she would come on to do guest co-host spots or specials on depression.

I wasn’t a fan and I have to say I am glad she’s leaving. Ever since she joined the View the show turned into somewhat of a circus act. When I would watch, it was more to just see what she was going to say or do next. Who was she going to piss off today?

The banter between her, Joy and Elisabeth lost its value to me because they argued too much. Rather than get any points across, it was just like…oh here we go again.

So will the View ever be the same? That’d be a hell no. I don’t know if they’ll be able to get the show back to what it was before Rosie left her mark. As annoying as she was, she did bring in the ratings.

Side note: Did you ever notice that every time she walks out at the opening of the show, she has her arms out and looks surprised? The other ladies smile and/or wave to the audience while Rosie just looks like she didn’t know anyone was going to be there.

Like I said, I’m not a fan, so I’m glad she’s leaving.

Adios Antonella

Finally. My faith in the American public has been restored. Antonella is gone. The top 12 Idol contenders will have 6 of the top women and 5 of the top men. Somehow Sanjaya slipped through the crack and Sundance Head was sent home tonight.

Who will win it…we’ll see.

The View on American Idol

According to TMZ.com American Idol has banned The View from using clips from the show.

This is in response to Rosie’s fly by night remarks saying that American Idol is both “weightist and racist”. Rosie’s ‘view’ seems to be that since Idol hasn’t kicked off Antonella Barba for her racy online photos and they kicked off Frenchie Davis for her participation in an online adult website they must be playing favorites.

Idol states that the difference is that Frenchie was paid and Antonella’s photos were released without her permission.

Frenchie Davis is now staring in a four year run of Rent on Broadway. Wonder where Antonella will turn up? Rumor has it that Girls Gone Wild is after her.

Noooooo! Not Star Jones Again!

I really enjoy getting my morning scoop on tmz.com. This morning…not so much.

Excuse me while I spit out my coffee through my nose. Star Jones is making an appearance on one of my favorite shows “Law & Order: SVU”. Say it isn’t so. I thought I was done having to see her mug on my big screen.

I got a kick out of the way tmz.com called her an “attorney turned Bridezilla”. That’s a good one.

Barba Is Back For At Least One More Week

I am so disappointed with my fellow American Idol voters. What is everyone thinking voting for that Barba chick. I mean the girl should be on America’s Top Model or something. Not in a singing competition.

I couldn’t help but notice that when all the girls grouped together to hug the girl that was voted out Antonella was in the back both times. It doesn’t seem like her peers are big fans either.

Well…maybe next week.

Oh and BTW-WTF with Sanjaya Malakar staying on one more week as well? He performed more poorly than the average kid at a school talent show. What is going here people!!

Antonella Barba Snips at Simon Cowell

I thought it was extremely rude of Antonella Barba to make a snippy remark to Simon last night on American Idol. First off, she performed horribly for the second week in a row. After Paula gave her the usual…blah blah “have fun, you are beautiful” whatever criticism, Simon told her how it really was. Antonella’s response was “Oh well, I’ll listen to Paula since you were wrong about Jennifer Hudson!” HOLD THE PHONE!!! What did she just say? Is she comparing herself to Oscar winning Jennifer Hudson? Yes, I believe so. Simon responded quickly putting her in her place.

Her recent thrust into online stardom has nothing to do with her voice. She knows it and so does everyone else. This girl has got to go. Please don’t make us listen to her try to compete in this competition. Oh and I forgot to mention…what the heck was she wearing?

Dancing With the Stars | Season Four

Jerry Springer revealed the new contestants on Dancing With the Stars this morning on Good Morning America. They are as follows:

VINCENT PASTORE - The Sopranos teams up with EDYTA SLIWINSKA.

LAILA ALI - She’s a world champion female boxer that is currently undefeated as well as being Muhammad Ali’s daughter. Her partner is MAKSIM CHMERKOVSKIY.

BILLY RAY CYRUS - Country singing sensation will partner up with KARINA SMIRNOFF

CLYDE DREXLER - Former NBA super star will team up with ELENA GRINENKO.

JOEY FATONE - Former boy band sensation (NSYNC) will dance with KYM JOHNSON.

SHANDI FINNESSEY - Miss USA 2004 will dance with BRIAN FORTUNA

LEEZA GIBBONS - Former talk show host will dance with TONY DOVOLANI.

HEATHER MILLS - Paul McCartney’s ex (The $63 woman) will dance with JONATHAN ROBERTS. BTW-She only has one foot. This outta be interesting.

APOLO ANTON OHNO - Speed Skating Hottie-Twice the Olympic gold medalist will team up with JULIANNE HOUGH. I wonder if he still has that patch on his chin?

PAULINA PORIZKOVA - Former Estee Lauder super model to dance with ALEC MAZO.

IAN ZIERING - Former Beverly Hills 90210 actor gets CHERYL BURKE(She won last season).

The show will air Monday March 19 with a two-hour season premiere beginning at 8pm. That means they will be going up against Heroes. I guess I’ll have to Tivo Dancing With the Stars.

American Idol Recap | Week One | Guys Night

If you missed American Idol last night (Feb, 20 2007) here’s a recap of how things went down.

First off, Paula Abdul’s hair…OMG, it’s way too light.

Aside from that, it was guys night and here’s how they did.

Britney Spears | Bald from Top to Bottom

We all knew Britney liked it bald down below, but now her head? If she stays on this track pretty soon with the right light and party make up, she could resemble Boy George.

Apparently, she was seen last Friday night at a Body and Soul Tattoo in Sherman Oaks, CA on her first day out of a 24 hour stay in a Caribbean rehab facility. So did she decide that instead of rehab all she needed was a couple tattoos and a bald head?

Here in L.A. our local KABC news interviewed a witness from the tattoo parlor and based on their comments, Britney did it because she is tired of having people touch her. Fans were convinced that she’s a mess and really losing it.

So young, so sad.

Anna Nicole Smith A Tragedy

The news about Anna Nicole Smith’s untimely death really hit me yesterday. I was never really a fan per se, but I did begin to hope the best for her after the news broke of her son Danielle dying in her hospital room right after she had given birth. That alone was such a heartbreaking story that it did make me feel compassion for her.

Living in the public eye can be the best and worst at times. The pressure and stress that comes with not having privacy can be too much for some people.

Anna Nicole was a 39 year old beauty. Maybe she internalized everything so much that it led her to drugs? We will never really know. All I can say is I hope her cause of death was not suicide. I hope she never reached that low point in her high flying life.

Anna Nicole spent most of her years here in Hollywood. She is a pop icon and her death will be remembered and compared to another icon – Marilyn Monroe. Here are two examples of people that appeared to have everything on the outside, yet in the inside were so empty.
