Hollywood Deaths Come in Three

Farrah Fawcett died after a long and hard battle with cancer.  Seeing her images on the news over the passed week as the young and beautiful Farrah is a big reminder that death will come for you, no matter who you are.

Hearing the story of Ryan O’Neil and their 20 year love affair is very heart warming.  They were never married, but he wanted to marry her before she died.  Looks like he will never get the chance.

Now the news is saying that Michael Jackson has been rushed to the hospital in cardiac arrest.  This is kind of eerie especially since Hollywood deaths travel in 3s.  Is the grim reaper chasing Michael Jackson?  Will it be Walter Cronkite? Who will be the third celeb to enter the pearly gates?

RIP Ed Mc McMahon – RIP Farrah Fawcett – and RIP ??

Not to forget the recent death of David Carradine, but that was around 6/4, so may be too long ago.

Chastity Bono Announces Sex Change

Chastity Bono

Chastity Bono has announced that she will be having a sex change to become a man. Apparently she began the process almost a year ago and is proud of her his decision.  Chastity has been openly gay for about 20 years.  I haven’t heard about her at all recently other than she was on a reality show (Celebrity Fit Club 3) a while back. (Chastity, if you want to get slim, try the It Works Body Wraps I was talking about, screw the reality shows. )

I hope she has her family’s support and hopefully the media will be kind to him.  People can be so cruel.

In case you have never heard of Chastity she is the daughter of Cher and the late Sonny Bono.  If you were alive in the 70s it’s likely you watched her as a cute little girl on her parents’ TV show.  Chastity has grown up in the public eye, but at 40 decided it was time.  Funny how that happens at 40. It’s kind of like a time bomb goes off in your head and says,” Screw everyone else. I’m gonna do what I want.”

Chastity is very active with GLAAD, she is a trained actor, and an accomplished writer.  Now it’s time for her to focus on her him.

Survivor China

I just finished watching the first episode of Survivor China.  I haven’t gotten to know all the castaways  yet, but I do know who I like and don’t like.  I was wrong last season, so I won’t bother trying to predict who will win, but I would’ve been right had I predicted Chicken would be voted off first.

They started the episode as they have in the past and told everyone they could only keep what they were wearing at the moment.  Some girls actually showed up in sandals and dresses.  What dummies.  Haven’t they seen the show before? The island they are on is so muddy and wet, it looks miserable.  I can’t believe those girls will have to be on the show the rest of the time in those thin little dresses.  Although I did hear that the weather there (albeit wet and rainy) is 115 degrees and humid.  Like I said, it looks miserable.

My favorite castaway so far is James.  He is a gravedigger and extremely shy and quite. (Likes to work alone?)  Least favorite is Peih-Gee (reminds me of someone I don’t like very much).

Side note: Did you notice that 4 of the 16 castaways are from Southern Cali?  All a bunch of actors.  Ah well, I love the show anyway.

I can’t wait for next week when all the new shows start.  I’m a reality TV junkie, so I’ll be back blogging about them all again.

Kathy Griffen

Kathy Griffen won an Emmy last Saturday for her reality show “My Life on the D-List”. At the stage of the Shrine Auditorium in front of all her peers, this is the best she could do with her acceptance speech:

“A lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this award. I want you to know that no one had less to do with this award than Jesus, suck it, Jesus. This award is my God now.”

So Kathy has succeeded in offending hundreds of thousands of people and I’m assuming pissed off her producers and probably many other execs over at Bravo.

What a dummy. Does anyone even watch the show?

Paris’s Haircut

While watching the MTV music awards last night I stopped in my tracks when I saw Miss Hilton’s new doo. Not that I’m a fan of hers, but she is young and beautiful and looked really good with her long locks, regardless of anything else she’d done, at least she looked good. The haircut, not so much. Why she cut it I don’t know, but it does make her look older. Girls can be young and pretty with long hair and be good girls (ala Hillary Duff). Paris cutting her hair, what’s up with that? I don’t like it. I wonder if she’ll be getting extensions like her BFF Britney.

Here’s a photo from the TMZ website and their article called “Paris Debutes New Middle-Aged Mane

Sherri Shepherd Joins the View

Sherri Shepherd joins the fantastic four of the View with a permanent seat next to Whoopi. The host are now 3 comedians, 1 reporter and 1 young Republican. The hosts of the View have had a history of some pretty heated ‘Hot Topics’ and I’m sure there will be more in their future. Especially with the election happening in 2008.

There is something about watching these ladies argue back and forth that is just intriguing to me. I really enjoy it, as weird as that sounds. Now that Rosie is gone, I’m back to watching the show daily.

Britney Spears at the MTV Music Awards

If you watched this poor girl last night perform in front of her peers as well as millions of viewers, I’m sure you’ll agree that it was hard to watch. This girl has been in the public eye almost her entire life, but in 2007, she’s been on the negative train for sure and last the train wrecked. I wanted to change the channel, but just couldn’t. The song was bad, she forgot the words, her moves were lethargic. It’d be a miracle if she ever got her career back.

Comedian Sarah Silverman pretty much put the nail in the coffin for Britney when she came on right after and tore her up. She called Brit’s kids the cutest mistakes she’d ever seen. It was bad, funny, but bad.

Rosie No Longer on the View

According to TMZ.com Rosie is not returning to the View. She has asked for an early leave from her contract.

Could this have had anything to do with her spat with Elisabeth the other day? Sweet little Republican Elisabeth? IMO, Elisabeth really kicked ass that day and stood her ground. She is always being over spoken by Rosie and Joy and I love the fact that she did not give in to Rosie. It was fantastic! It shows me that Elisabeth is a strong woman and just because of her size, she will not be taken down by anyone.

So as a part-time viewer, I can only guess that Rosie’s feelings got hurt and she didn’t want to deal with it. Just a guess I am basing on the look on her face on her last show.

Regardless of the reason, I am looking forward to watching the show more now. I really hope that they bring on Sherri Shephard permanently. I am really a fan of hers.

American Idol Finale

Watching Jordin Sparks signing ‘This Is My Now’ was like watching Kelly Clarkson singing “A Moment Like This’ on her season finale. I had chills, both times. The song is so inspirational, I am sure it will be a huge success and really help to further launch Jordin’s career. She really did “wipe the floor with Blake” as Simon so nicely put it. At any rate, I’m still not over Melinda Doolittle being voted out, I think she would’ve out song Jordin last night, but why dwell on that now right? It is just a show after all, I just really like the show.

Interesting that so many of the idols are from Seattle, hmmm?

Anyway, I pretty sure Miss Sparks will win tonight. I can’t wait to go out and buy that song.

Go Melinda Doolittle!

I voted for Melinda until a callus appeared on my finger last night.

She came out so strong with Whitney Houston. Her stage presence is enough to keep me watching and listening to her. She just exudes power, yet appears to be so humble at the same time.

I can’t wait til tonight to find out what happened.
