Best Mexican Food in Los Angeles
Hands down it’s La Golondrina Cafe in Olvera Street.
I spent about 5 hours here last week. Yes 5 hours! The restaurant is so fun and they were celebrating Los Dias De Los Muertos (The Day of the Dead), so how could I leave? The food is the best Mexican food in L.A. From the chips and salsa to the flan.
The entertainment there is a whole other story. There was non stop singing and guitar playing on the night I went and the guitar player charged $5.00 per song. That’s kind of the only bummer was that he was so expensive, but we just couldn’t get enough.
Olvera Street is located right across the street from the train station, so you could travel here from all over the city and not have to drink n drive. The margaritas are wonderful and they bring them to you buy the pitcher, non stop if you ask for it.
La Golondrina Cafe is the oldest brick house in all of Los Angeles and the oldest restaurant on Olvera Street. There is really so much history to take in and culture surrounds you everwhere you look. Make sure you sit out on the patio to soak in the scenery. You can also park across the street if taking the train isn’t an option.
Sofitel Los Angeles Best Brunch Ever
If you are looking for a way to treat yourself or a group consider spending a weekend at the Sofitel Hotel in Los Angeles. First of all, the hotel is located across the street from the Beverly Center, so there is enough shopping, bar hopping, celebrity watching to keep you busy for the entire weekend. Not to mention the hotel itself is a dream.
I went there with some friends to celebrate a birthday and had what I call, the best brunch I ever. The restaurant in Sofitel is called Simon L.A. It’s named after its chef Kerry Simon. The service and ambiance in Simon L.A. is magnificent and leaves you feeling like a super star. They bring you so much food and you are left wanting for nothing! Oh and did I mention the mimosas? Watch out cuz they do charge you for those!
After our meal we moved out on to the patio where the birthday girl got this special treat.
Can you say nom nom nom?
Sitting out on the patio of Simon L.A. is so relaxing. The chairs are nice and big and you get this vacation feeling right away. I am sure that the place is totally hoping at night.
So check it out. Tell me what you think.
