I’m sitting here watching Wife Swap. There’s this woman on tonight from a farm in Iowa. This lady is a total freak and is trying to impose her lifestyle on a family from California. She is preaching some insane things such as: eating only raw food (that includes raw chicken), not sending kids to school (she says everything they need to learn, they can learn from their environment), bacteria is good for you (she even cleans the kitchen floor by licking it).

So maybe I’m a product of my environment having been raised as a city girl, but watching this show tonight is not giving middle America a great image. Frankly, it’s really grossing me out. Here is Southern Cali, we cook our food (unless we’re at sushi), we send our kids to school (unless they are actors in which case they are probably home schooled), and we use a mop to clean the floor.

Today on The View co-host Sherri Shepherd spoke candidly about her husband’s affair and on the status of her divorce. What I like about Sherri is that she holds nothing back. She is a woman that knows what she wants and will fight to get it. Her discussion about the rage that builds up inside her when she thinks of her husband’s affair is so real. She’s honest about wanting to “kill” him at times and not minding any jail time. There are so many women in the media today that have experienced something similar and won’t discuss it. Here’s the way I see it. An affair is not ok! She has every right to feel the way she does. (As long as she doesn’t really “kill” him of course.) It is natural to feel embarrassed and humiliated after such an enormous betrayal. Of course rage will set in. It’s great to talk about it so other women know that they aren’t the only ones that may be going through it.

Sherri added that she is now at the stage where it is time to forgive and move forward. Forgiving is an ongoing thing. You have to forgive every day or every time you think of it otherwise it will destroy you. When I feel rage I often turn to the Serenity Prayer. (I am not religious, but I did go to Catholic school. This one really sticks out to me.) God, give me the grace to accept the things that cannot be changed, the courage to change the things that should be changed, and the wisdom to distinguish the one from the other. Once you accept that you cannot change something, it’s easier to let it go.

She mentioned that there is even a chance (albeit small) that she may even take her husband back. They have a 2 year old son and I am sure that he will have a lot, if not everything to do with her decision.

As a fan I’ll be watching her story from afar.

Sherri has a new dvd out now. Buy it she needs the money. That’s what she said anyway.

Deciding to take the chunnel (channel tunnel) to Paris and return the same day was a whirlwind idea. Actually, it wasn’t my idea. This really awesome man that we met in the bar the night before offered to pay for my husband to take me to Paris. It was such a generous offer and very heart felt. How could we refuse? It was definitely worth it. Spending about 8 hours in Paris ala Amazing Race pace was enough to get a taste of this beautiful city. The history that surrounded us as we wandered through the streets was overwhelming.

Our first stop on our tour was the Notre Dame Cathedral. Talk about massive. Entering the church brought tears to my eyes. There is no fee to walk through the church, but of course, they will take donations.

Next was the Eiffel Tower. It is all that you think it is and well worth the trip alone. If you go to the Eiffel Tower, plan on at least 4 hours if you want to go to the top. It’s kind of hard to take a picture of yourself with the tower in the background unless you go down the street a bit, unless of course you are willing to lie on the ground.

On to the Arc de Triomphe! Another massive piece of ancient architecture. Just as beautiful as I thought it would be. It’s pretty big as well. The Arc de Triomphe is surrounded by one of the biggest if not the biggest round about in the world. The traffic just circles around with no signals; the cars just merge in and out. It’s insane.

Before our next stop we stopped at a Beer Bar and had lunch. I had a dry salami baguette and water. When I ordered my water the waitress asked me if I wanted gas or no gas. Ahhh, no gas please! Oh yes and beware of ordering “large” sodas in Paris. Our friend ordered a large diet coke that ended up costing 14 euros which works out to somewhere around $20.

Last stop, the Louvre! The Louvre closes at 5:30pm on Thursdays. So at 5:00pm, there we were buying our tickets on a foot race to the Mona Lisa. We found her! She was not as magnificent as I had thought, but at least we can say we’ve been there. On our way out we saw a sign that pointed us to the Venus de Milo statue. You know the one with the arms cut off. So in thirty minutes we saw two of the most famous pieces of art in history. You really need 2 days to appreciate everything in the Louvre. Be prepared to see a lot of penises and boobs. They are everywhere in there. More penises though. There was definitely a whole homo erotica thing going on through out most of the pieces. I suppose that would be a whole other post though.

At any rate, would I do it again? Hell ya!

We all knew Britney liked it bald down below, but now her head? If she stays on this track pretty soon with the right light and party make up, she could resemble Boy George.

Apparently, she was seen last Friday night at a Body and Soul Tattoo in Sherman Oaks, CA on her first day out of a 24 hour stay in a Caribbean rehab facility. So did she decide that instead of rehab all she needed was a couple tattoos and a bald head?

Bald Britney Courtesy KABC

Here in L.A. our local KABC news interviewed a witness from the tattoo parlor and based on their comments, Britney did it because she is tired of having people touch her. Fans were convinced that she’s a mess and really losing it.

So young, so sad.

Back from our trip to London. We really did a lot in three and half days. We stayed in an area called the Docklands which is about an hour or so from Heathrow and about thirty or so minutes from central London. That translates to about a 75 pound cab ride and 25 pounds each time we wanted to go into the city. I wouldn’t recommend staying in this neck of the woods if you are traveling to London. Definitely stay in the city.

Regardless, we had a fantastic time and I will post a separate entry about the day trip we took to Paris.

We flew Air New Zealand to London Heathrow and I just wanted to comment on what a great airline they are. Everything was on time. There was no luggage lost. The food was good. The entertainment was amazing. I watch 6 blockbuster movies between going there and coming back.

I would definitely fly them again.

I’m getting ready to go to London on Sunday. I went to buy an outlet/voltage converter so I’ll be able to flat iron my hair this time around. Did you know that you can’t just buy the outlet converter? You also have to buy the voltage converter that you plug into the outlet converter. Then you plug the voltage converter into the outlet converter, so you have this enormous thing plugged into the wall. On top of that I need two of them or four depending on how you look at it. I need one for my laptop and one for my flat iron. Ugh! $95.00 later I think I’m all set. I guess it’s better to be prepared though. I definitely don’t want to be like Ashton Kutcher and Brittany Murphy in Just Married. Remember the part when he plugged something into the wall to charge what looked like a huge vibrator? The outlet exploded and busted open a wall in the 5000 year old castle. How embarrassing!

The weather reports for London show a lot of rain; I’m definitely bringing an umbrella and warm clothes. We’re flying on Air New Zealand. Never flown with them before, so I am hoping it will be an enjoyable experience. Well, as enjoyable as sitting on a plane for 11 hours can possibly be right?

Anyway, depending on my internet connection, I may or may not be able to blog, but I’ll be back next week with more of my daily rants.

The news about Anna Nicole Smith’s untimely death really hit me yesterday. I was never really a fan per se, but I did begin to hope the best for her after the news broke of her son Danielle dying in her hospital room right after she had given birth. That alone was such a heartbreaking story that it did make me feel compassion for her.

Living in the public eye can be the best and worst at times. The pressure and stress that comes with not having privacy can be too much for some people.

Anna Nicole was a 39 year old beauty. Maybe she internalized everything so much that it led her to drugs? We will never really know. All I can say is I hope her cause of death was not suicide. I hope she never reached that low point in her high flying life.

Anna Nicole spent most of her years here in Hollywood. She is a pop icon and her death will be remembered and compared to another icon – Marilyn Monroe. Here are two examples of people that appeared to have everything on the outside, yet in the inside were so empty.

That’s the latest word on the street anyway. After Paris was exposed in a video using the “n” word and the homosexual slur that rhymes with maggot. The video is about 4 ½ minutes long and it is painful to watch. Mainly because throughout the whole thing, you have to watch her dance. The girl has no rhythm. At the end of the video, she blurts out a few more beauties, like “public school bitch” and “fuckin hoodlum broke poor bitch from Compton”. Ah to be an ignorant rich bitch with no rhythm and a bad haircut. How pathetic. So this is how she feels about girls that might be buying her perfume eh? Public school bitches huh?

Must suck to be Paris right now. Let’s see what the future holds for Paris… Dancing with the Stars? Rehab?

If you can’t stand the pain of watching the whole video, fast forward to about the last 50 seconds for the grand finale.
